MERRILLVILLE -- Senior-less Andrean showed that experience isn't necessarily everything Monday as it put a 25-11, 25-13, 25-19 pasting on Chesterton in a volleyball match that lasted less than an hour.
"People doubting us (with) no seniors, five juniors, we fight," said junior left-side hitter Angelina Majchrowicz, who registered 11 kills and nine digs.
Epic Club junior setter Maddie Kmetz was easily the match MVP as she jump set 100 percent of the time. She registered 27 assists and 12 digs.
"Freshman and sophomore (years), we took losses to Chesterton," Kmetz said. "Revenge."
Exciting freshman Marin Sanchez was good on the left and running the pipe from middle back, matching Majchrowicz's 11 kills.
"First year, just doing the best I can," Sanchez said. "Not worrying."

Chesterton was minus bell cow hitter Meghan Gaffigan for unspecified reasons and Trojans coach Amber McCaw was coy on her availability for Tuesday's Duneland Athletic Conference home match with La Porte.
Andrean coach Grant Bell, a transplanted California, downplayed her absence's impact on the outcome.
"Not one hitter away from beating us," Bell said. "Third-year starting setter makes a difference."
Caleigh Doffin led the Niners in digs with 14. Audrey Nohos connected on four blocks and Brooke Molson had three.
The Class 2A 59ers improved to 3-1, while 4A Chesterton fell to 6-2, though Bell isn't concerned about racking up wins with soft competition.
"I don't believe in scheduling down," he said. "Teams like Valpo and La Porte would not schedule us in the past. We'll keep trying."
